Growth Mindset

I had never heard of Carol Dweck or the growth mindset before, but i really enjoyed watching her TED talk on the topic and found it very interesting.

I believe that personally I have more of a fixed mindset rather than a growth one, I like to stick to things that I know that i'm good at rather than venture out and grow new skills and more creativity in my schoolwork, but in some aspects I think I have a slight growth mindset because I like to try new things but don't always feel comfortable doing so if I feel like I might fail at them.

I have learned that as much as I like trying new things in college, once the challenge gets a bit too hard I tend to just give up instead of working harder to solve the problems that i'm facing in the work, that would be one of my biggest challenges and I would like to get out of that mindset and be able to continue working towards the end goal, even when i'm finding things a bit too difficult.

I think the growth mindset is such an interesting topic and I would love to learn more about it this semester, I think it will help me understand ways to help me with my schoolwork and assignments and help me find more motivation on how to complete these tasks without giving up when I find them hard.

Some personal learning goals I have for this semester are to find some new interests in these new modules and work a bit more on interests I may already have.
